Autism Spectrum Disorder

A neurodevelopmental condition that is characterized by persistent differences in social interactions and a pattern of restricted interests and behaviours, often non-typical of the individual’s age and/or the social context. The condition presents itself on a spectrum; different individuals can have varied support needs but the deficits are severe and can hinder personal, professional, educational, or occupational functioning (American Psychiatric Association, 2013; World Health Organization, 2026).
