Aversive Conditioning

A form of classical conditioning in which a neutral stimulus is associated with an unconditioned stimulus that is actively avoided (American Psychological Association, 2018). If fear is the response to an electrical shock, pairing the sound of a buzzer with the shock would be an example of Aversive Conditioning.
